FPSB SEEKS CANDIDATES FOR 2010 BOARD TOKYO, JAPAN – 27 APRIL 2009 – Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), owner of the CFP, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER and CFP Logo Marks outside the United States, seeks nominations for three positions on FPSB’s Board of Directors, starting 1 April 2010.

or +1-720-917-0001 (fax), no later than 10 July 2009. “In addition to significant national and/or international board experience, we seek candidates who represent a variety of experiences to complement those of our existing Board Members and help guide our organization in its effort to establish financial planning as a global profession,” said Stephen O’Connor, CFP, FPSB Board Chairperson. “With almost 120,000 CFP professionals and 23 member organizations administering CFP certification around the world, the candidates we name to the Board will have an opportunity to play a key role in helping to meet the needs of the global public seeking the advice of competent and ethical financial planners,” O’Connor added. FPSB’s Board of Directors is responsible for developing governing policies that address the broadest levels of all organizational decisions and situations; identifying needs and advocating on behalf of FPSB’s membership; and overseeing organizational performance and providing strategic guidance to FPSB’s chief executive officer. FPSB will finalize its selection of the three incoming board members at its November 2009 meeting in Ireland. The candidates chosen will join six other volunteer Board members from Australia, Canada, South Africa, Japan, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States.
