Ana Cláudia Akie Utumi, CFP, 2023-25 FPSB Board Chairperson
BrazilAna Cláudia Akie Utumi, CFP, is the founding partner of Utumi Advogados in Brazil and has more than 30 years of experience in tax. In addition to heading up her own tax specialty legal practice, Utumi is Professor of Tax Law at the University IBDT in São Paulo and guest lecturer at the University of Zurich.
Utumi was a founding board member of Planejar, FPSB’s Affiliate organization in Brazil; served as a member of both the organizing committee for the 71st International Fiscal Association Congress and the IFA Permanent Scientific Committee (2010-2017); and serves as chairperson of the Brazilian Branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners – STEP.
Ms. Utumi’s term on the FPSB Board of Directors ends 31 March 2025.

Andrea Middel, CFP, 2023-25 FPSB Board Chairperson-elect
The NetherlandsAfter a banking career of 13 years in account management, marketing, financial planning and management, Andrea Middel started her own advisory practice (DURF financieel planners) in 2006, and currently has three partners. DURF is the Dutch word for DARE and the pay-off is: if you understand what you’re doing, you DARE more: DURF gives confidence.
Middel is also involved in process and project management for (pension fund) boards, for example as process supervisor of self-evaluations. She was chosen as financial planner of the year in 2011 in the Netherlands. She served on the board of the FFP (Federation of Financial Planners) from 2012 – 2018 mainly responsible for the ‘professional competence’ file. She was appointed as Member of Merit of the FFP.

Caroline Dabu
CanadaCaroline Dabu, Head of Wealth Distribution and Advisory Services at BMO Private Wealth in Canada, currently serves as chair of the FP Canada Foundation and was a former board member of the Financial Planning Standards Council from 2015-2018, now known as FP Canada.
She holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University.
Dabu’s term on the FPSB Board of Directors ends 31 March 2026.

Colin Slabach, Ph.D., CFP, RICP
United StatesColin Slabach, Ph.D., CFP, RICP is a Clinical Assistant Professor and faculty lead at New York University, and previously served as Professor of Retirement at The American College and Assistant Director at Center for Retirement Income. In addition, he currently serves on the U.S-based Financial Planning Association’s Nex Gen Advisory Board and fintech company Tolerisk.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance from Eastern Illinois University, a Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning and a Ph.D. in Personal Financial Planning from Texas Tech University. Slabach’s term on the FPSB Board of Directors ends on 31 March 2027.

Dr. Kaja Kroll
MexicoDr. Kaja Kroll, is the Head Wealth Management & Private Clients of HSBC Mexico, and has held leadership positions at BNP Paribas PF Mexico and DaimlerChrysler Financial Services. With experience in organizational development, business strategy, customer service and operations management, Kroll received a master coach designation from Spain’s International School of Coaching in 2009.
In addition to her doctorate, which she received from the University of Phoenix, Kroll holds an MBA degree from Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico and the Thunderbird School of Global Management, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Berufsakademie Berlin in Germany.
Dr. Kroll’s term on the FPSB Board of Directors ends 31 March 2025.

Darren McShane
AustraliaDarren McShane, an experienced public policy professional from Australia, is a consultant who works with financial services regulators and industry participants on issues such as disclosure, pension system design, investment regulation, risk and compliance.
He has an extensive work history with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) in Hong Kong, as well as with the International Organization of Pension Supervisors (IOPs) based in France. He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Queensland and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Sydney.
Mr. McShane’s term on the FPSB Board of Directors ends on 31 March 2027.

Eunice Chun Hei Chan, Chartered Banker, CFP, IFP
MalaysiaEunice Chun Hei Chan, Chartered Banker, CFP, IFP, is a Senior Executive Vice President, Head of Retail Wealth Management and Segment, Group Wealth Management at Maybank Malaysia. As as a board member, Exco member and Treasurer of Financial Planning Association of Malaysia, she is an advocate for financial literacy and is passionate about sharing her personal financial planning knowledge and experience to benefit the broader community in Malaysia and across the globe.
She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration degree from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Chan’s term on the FPSB Board of Directors ends 31 March 2026.

Yu Gao
ChinaYu Gao serves as a member of FPSB China’s Academic Advisory Committee and has held several leadership roles with Morgan Stanley Asia Ltd. including Co-CIO, Asia Private Equity; Member of China Management Committee; Chairman of Investment Committee of RMB Fund; and Managing Director, Investment Management. In addition, he has extensive international leadership experience serving as chairman / vice chairman of companies focused on global expansion including Nissos Holdings and Home Control International Ltd.
He holds dual Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Economics from Tsinghua University and a Master of Science in Engineering-Economic Systems & Operations Research from Stanford University. Gao’s term on the FPSB Board of Directors ends on 31 March 2027.

Dante De Gori, CFP
Chief Executive OfficerDante De Gori, CFP, is the Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB).
Prior to this, De Gori served as Chief Executive Officer of the Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) – the financial planning professional body in Australia and sixth largest Affiliate within the FPSB Network. For six years, he led teams focused on standards, certification, education, events, advocacy and consumer awareness, and made exceptional contributions to the Australian financial planning profession through a period of tremendous reform to help raise education and professional standards.
A proud CFP professional, De Gori is passionate about advancing the profession of financial planning and supporting CFP professionals around the globe. He has served on several FPSB committees and working groups, including as chair of the Council and chair of the Chief Executives Committee (CEC) from 2018 to 2021. In early 2022, De Gori joined FPSB as Head of Stakeholder Engagement.
De Gori has more than 20 years of experience in the financial planning profession. He’s worked in various senior roles within financial planning and compliance at ClearView Financial Management, Zurich Financial Services, Asteron Life and Suncorp Bank. He also spent six years as General Manager, Policy and Government Relations at FPA Australia before being named CEO. De Gori also served as Director of the Future2Foundation, the charity foundation of the financial planning profession in Australia, from 2016 to 2021.
De Gori was recently awarded the Association Influencer of the Year 2022 by the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (finance and marketing), a graduate certificate in politics and policy, a diploma in financial planning, has completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course (2021), and is currently completing a Master of Laws at the Australian National University.
De Gori is a proud husband and father who dedicates his life to the four F’s: family, food, football and financial planning.
As CEO, De Gori is a non-voting member of FPSB’s Board of Directors.
