Financial Planning Standards Board Hosts Live Global Panel Event on World Financial Planning Day

October 7 Panel Event Explores Impact of COVID-19 on the Future of Financial Planning

NEW YORK, NY ­­— 24 SEPTEMBER 2020 ­­— Together with its global network of affiliate organizations, Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), the standards-setting body for the global financial planning profession and owner of the international CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program outside the United States, will host a live global panel event for financial planning professionals on World Financial Planning Day (#WFPD2020), Wednesday, October 7. Now in its fourth year, World Financial Planning Day was established to raise public awareness of the value of financial planning through programs and events across 27 countries and territories worldwide. Registration for the free global panel event is now open.

“We are living in a time of great uncertainty, and the need for competent and ethical financial planning professionals has never been greater than it is today,” said J.D. McCartney, chief communications officer at FPSB. “Client needs have evolved in the wake of a global pandemic, and we look forward to sharing insights from leading practitioners, regulators and researchers into how the profession can improve financial literacy and demonstrate the value of financial planning for all.”

Noel Maye, CEO of FPSB, will host the Future of Financial Planning: Adapting to a New Normal, airing live on YouTube and Facebook at 10 a.m. Eastern (14:00 UTC) and featuring two 50-minute panel discussions:
