Financial Planning Standards Board Launches New Pathway to CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM Certification in India

DENVER, CO – 01 JUNE 2020 Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB Ltd.), owner of the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERCM certification program in India, announced today the launch of its new education and credentialing pathway to CFP certification to facilitate more structured learning and recognition opportunities for candidates for CFP certification in India.

During the past year, FPSB Ltd. restructured the content of the education requirement for CFP certification in India into three specialist education tracks (investment planning; retirement and tax planning; and risk and estate planning) and a financial planning capstone course. Delivered through FPSB Ltd.’s online learning platform, the new courses consist of textbooks with global and India-specific content, interactive modules and practice questions. FPSB Ltd.’s online education courses can be taken through self-study or through one of FPSB Ltd.’s Authorized Education Providers listed here.

Registration for the first of FPSB Ltd.’s four courses, the investment planning specialist course, is now open here. On FPSB Ltd.’s online learning platform, candidates can access the six-module course, comprised of 800 pages of textbook content, 37 chapters (21 of which are interactive) and 250+ practice questions, to learn how to develop strategies to optimize clients’ investments considering clients’ risk profile, financial capacity and constraints. To be recognized by employers, clients and the public as an FPSB® Investment Planning Specialist, candidates will need to complete the education course, pass a two-hour online exam, and meet FPSB Ltd.’s ethics and ongoing certification requirements. “FPSB Ltd. is committed to developing the capability and growing the number of CFP professionals in India so the public has increased access to advice from competent and ethical financial planners – especially during these uncertain times,” said Noel Maye, FPSB Ltd. CEO. “Through our new pathway to CFP certification in India, launched with the FPSB Investment Planning Specialist course, FPSB Ltd. is pleased to provide a quality learning experience to Indian students and financial advisors to support their journey to CFP certification, and towards becoming part of a community of ~190,000 CFP professionals worldwide committed to working in their clients’ best interest.”

Rounding out the new pathway to CFP certification, in the coming months, FPSB Ltd. will launch its retirement and tax planning specialist; risk and estate planning specialist; and financial planning capstone education courses on its online learning platform. By completing certification requirements similar to those described above, successful candidates in the specialist tracks can be recognized as an FPSB® Retirement and Tax Planning Specialist or an FPSB® Risk and Estate Planning Specialist. Upon completing all four education courses and related exams, and meeting FPSB Ltd.’s CFP exam and experience requirements, individuals can be recognized as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional in India.
