Financial Planning Standards Board Names Paul Grimes As 2020 FPSB Council Chairperson

DENVER, CO – 29 OCTOBER 2019 – At its annual meeting in Zürich, Switzerland, last week, Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), owner of the international CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program outside the United States, named Paul Grimes, CFP, to serve as FPSB Council Chairperson, effective 1 January 2020.

The FPSB Council is the global forum for nonprofit standards setting bodies committed to promoting the value of financial planning; the value of working with a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional; and the importance of having a global community of competent and ethical financial planning professionals working in their clients’ interests. Made up of delegates from professional financial planning bodies in 27 territories that have certified over 181,000 CFP professionals worldwide, the FPSB Council advises and guides the FPSB Board of Directors on setting strategy and developing standards for the global financial planning profession.

In addition to being chief executive officer for FPSB Ireland, Paul Grimes, CFP, has nearly 30 years of experience as an independent financial planner, consultant, business coach and trainer, specializing in the private banking and affluent sectors of the financial services industry. During his career, Grimes has worked with institutions and clients in Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the U.S. He lectures in financial planning at a post-graduate level and is regularly featured in professional publications.
