FPSB Board Names Barry Horner, CFP, 2017 Board Chairperson-Elect

DENVER, CO – 26 Oct. 2016 – Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), owner of the international CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification program outside the U.S., named Barry Horner, CFP, as Chairperson-elect of its Board of Directors beginning 01 April 2017. Following his one-year term as Chairperson-elect, he will transition to the position of 2018-19 FPSB Board Chairperson.

Horner is a director of FPSB and the founder and CEO of Paradigm Norton Financial Planning Ltd. in the United Kingdom. Horner has led Paradigm Norton to become globally recognized as a respected, fee-only financial planning firm for more than 15 years.

“I am committed to contributing to leading the development of the global financial planning profession in my role on the FPSB Board,” said Horner. “I look forward to guiding the FPSB network as we focus on growth of CFP certification into new territories and to representing the interests of consumers globally who are looking for advice from competent and ethical financial advisers and financial planners.”

Horner previously served as president of the U.K.-based Institute of Financial Planning (IFP), as well as chair and board member of IFP from 2007 to 2010. In addition to his board service on FPSB and IFP, Horner has also served as a board member of AGORA U.K., the European Association of Planned Giving, the U.K. Community Foundation Network and U.K. micro finance charity Deki.

Horner and seven other volunteer leaders make up the FPSB Board of Directors from Australia, Brazil, China, India, South Africa, the United Kingdom and the United States, along with the FPSB Ltd. chief executive, a nonvoting board member.
