FPSB works in conjunction with its Affiliate organizations, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professionals and subject-matter experts around the world to create a global framework for financial planning professionalism that integrates competency, ethics and professional practice standards for financial planning, along with CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification requirements. All organizations and individuals engaged in financial planning can embrace FPSB’s professional framework for financial planning. FPSB’s standards and certification requirements are adapted by FPSB Affiliate organizations and enforced against CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professionals in their territories.
How FPSB Sets Standards
FPSB’s global standards for the financial planning profession (as well as CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification requirements) are developed using an extensive drafting and consultative process. FPSB’s process relies on input from standards-setting experts, certification specialists, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professionals, FPSB Affiliate organizations, academics and consumer representatives from around the world.
The CFP Certification Framework
FPSB has developed a framework for CFP certification that integrates competency, ethics and professional practice standards for financial planning, along with requirements in the areas of education, assessment and ongoing competency. All organizations and individuals engaged in financial planning can embrace FPSB’s CFP certification framework for financial planning.
